NIRAM (complexion, colour of Skin,wounds,etc.)

                     
                                           This helps in the assessment and identification of the basics of the body constitution type  (Yaakkai elakkanam). It indicates about the haemic status of the body, poisoning,  artificial colouring of the body, color of ulcer, colour of hair, nails, palmar creases,teeth etc.
                              
                                            Hair colour could be blonde, black or grey indicating the race, pigmentation of hair could be indicative of the nutritional status of  body. ‘Flag sign’in which there will be alternating black and brown colour of the hair indicates the protein energy malnutrition in the childhood. Many skin lesions show distinctive colour changes in them. In kalanjagapadai there would be erythematous plaques, in lichen planus a condition in which marked itching is presented and  comparable with that of ‘Peysori’ shows up with violaceous papules. colour of the contusions,hematoma and tissue damage in injuries help much in the forensic diagnosis. Yellowishness of the body is commonly presented in conditions like Kamalai(jaundice),lemon yellow tintedness in the kuraiveedhana noi due to hypercarotenemia.  
                              
Complexion changes of the body during the terminal stage may provide some clues to enlighten about the impending death.
